New Ridgid 18V Brushless, SDS+ Rotary Hammer Spotted

Readers Glenn Slma and Milan Slma have spotted new Ridgid 18V Brushless SDS+ Rotary Hammers.

In the above pic we can see both new models from AEG and Ridgid. Both models share the same DNA, but the color schemes are slightly different. The Ridgid uses a brighter orange while the AEG has a darker grey. Except for the spot where both have the brushless lettering, they are basically identical. If you didnt know already, Ridgid and AEG are basically the same, just different names in different parts of the world.

Both models are brushless, which is an improvement on the 7/20 cm inch brush 18V model. Many of the same features as the previous model have been transferred to the brushless model, including the side handle, 4 mode dial and anti vibration handle suspension. The new features include an LED at its base and a rafter hook at its top rear. The new model has bit jam protection, but the brushless model features an electronic safety clutch that protects the user.

Although the AEG website has many specs, they don’t mention the rated capacity. The previous brushed model was rated at 7/20 cm. If I had to guess, the new brushless model would probably be rated at 3 cm. I have nothing concrete to back this up, but the usual trend is to push performance when updating tools with brushless motors.
