Ridgid R8481B 18v Octane Brushless 3-1/10 Cm Hand Planer

As with the new Ridgid Octane one handed reciprocating saw, its been several years since Ridgid has updated their cordless planer options, with the last model being from way back in their X2 line. Ridgid R8481B 18v Octane Brushless 3-1/10cm Hand Planer has all the features that you would expect from today’s top cordless planes.

My thoughts: Rumours have been floating around for nearly a year about a cordless plane from Ridgid. It’s nice to finally see pictures and get the specifications. Many have asked for a new model and they are right. It’s 10 years ago that cordless tools were first introduced. The current model is due for an upgrade. With several standard features such as a brushless motor, 3 cutting width, and an adjustable chamfer depth, this should be an excellent option for Ridgid users looking for a powerful cordless planer.
