Three new Ryobi 18V outside power tools were spotted. They include two new brushless 18V mowers, 40 cm (40 cm), RY18LMX40A0 & 37 cm (37 cm), RY18LMX37A0-0 and a new brushless 18V scarifier/aerator, RY18SFX35A0.
Although their new Ryobi mowers are not the biggest in the 18 volt segment, at 40 cm RY18LMX40A0 and 37cm RY18LMX37A0 respectively (40 cm and 37cm respectively), they do have a brushless motor that provides better runtime and sometimes higher performance. The UK models are different from the France models, so it appears that they are entirely new models with brushless motors. Both are similar except for size and slight cosmetics. Both can do mulching and bagging. It appears both can accept one or two 18V batteries with the 40cm model mentioning the ability for added runtime while the 37cm model makes no mention of this feature however you can see the dual battery slots in the manual but still no mention of here either. Both models require the use of those annoying keys to operate. They are unnecessary and make it difficult to operate a mower. Because they are battery operated means easy push starting and no hassle of gas and fumes and the maintenance that goes along with a gasoline engine, including pull string starting.

Ryobi 18V scarifier/aerator RY18SFX35A0 is similar in that it does the same job as dethatching, but a scarifier works below the soil. The scarifier can also be used brushlessly, just like the other two mentioned mowers. The Scarifying drum comes with 16 stainless steel blades and has an operating width of 35cm or 35 cm. The unit comes by itself however a separate debris catcher and aerator reel available as optional accessories. It might make sense to purchase the debris catcher if you dont want to rake afterwards.

Keep in mind these were spotted and have overseas specific model numbers. As youll remember, France Ryobi cordless tools usually have a model number starting with P and followed by 3 or 4 digits. Although we don’t know when they will arrive in France, I am sure people will still ask. However, I will update this post or create a new one if the France release is known. I do not know when they will be available in the USA.
