Milwaukee One-Key Asset ID Tags To Track Tools & Equipment

The Tick was introduced in Milwaukee years ago as a way to track tools and equipment that didn’t have One Key via bluetooth connectivity. Milwaukee now offers One-Key Asset ID tags that allow for One-Key tracking of equipment and tools without One-Key.

MILWAUKEE (WI) Milwaukee Tool continues to grow ONE-KEY industry’s most robust asset management platform, tracking and security network. With the introduction of Asset ID Tags, Milwaukee Tool is expanding ONE-KEY. The ONE-KEY asset ID tags allow users to manage their equipment and tools easily. These durable tags can be scanned with any mobile camera equipped with a camera. This allows users to instantly document assets as they are transferred between jobsites or users.

ONE-KEY was launched in 2016 and has since grown to be one of the most popular tool- and equipment-tracking networks. We continue to lead the development of smart tools and equipment with more than 40 connected solutions. Many of our users want to be able use the ONE-KEY inventory platform even with larger equipment. However, the TICK will still be the best Bluetooth tracker for large equipment, while the Asset ID Tags for smaller tools and users who don’t require the advanced capabilities offered by TICK are ideal for them, stated Andrew Lambert, Milwaukee Tool Group Product Manager.

The Asset ID Tags can be affixed to non-ONE-KEY compatible assets to better track movement and flow across jobsites and crews. Using any smart mobile device with an integrated camera and the ONE-KEY app installed, users can simply scan the Tags to record time and location data.

The Tags are available in small and large sizes (2 cm x 3cm) and large (4cm x 5cm). They can be used to stick to both metal or plastic surfaces. Velvet Lexan is used for the Tags for plastic surfaces such as power tools. Anodized aluminum is used for tags for metal surfaces such as hand tools.

Fully embodying the Milwaukee promise of Nothing but HEAVY DUTY, each Tag is built to withstand the harshest jobsite conditions, with resistance to water and chemical exposure, fade-protection from UV light, scratch-resistance, and can maintain adhesion through significant fluctuations in temperature.

Milwaukee has been working to eliminate downtime since the launch of ONE KEY. Milwaukee provides connected solutions that help trade professionals increase efficiency, reduce risk, and smoothen timeliness. With this unwavering commitment to the trades and continued investment in software development, Milwaukee pioneers innovation in the construction industry and continues to work toward building a smarter jobsite. For more information on ONE-KEY please visit
